Front-end services
Our front-end capability supports development of our customers’ upstream and downstream assets – both onshore and offshore (fixed and floating). Our credentials are based on over 50 years of experience in front-end studies with more than 60 customers across the world.

Major projects

Oil Sands
We are a major provider of services to the Canadian oil sands producers, carrying out design, delivery and specialist consultancy across all aspects of extraction and production. We have worked in the sector since the 1950s and helped build the first oil sands plant in 1967. We provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for oil sands surface mining, extraction, transportation by pipelines, power generation and infrastructure for bitumen extraction plants. We have project managed multi-billion dollar facilities in the harsh winter conditions found in northern Alberta.
Through AMEC BDR we also provide specialist technical engineering services to the fast-growing 'in-situ' heavy oil industries using SAG-D and other applicable technologies.
